Print For Love, a dynamic Emilian company founded in 2020, was the first Italian business to choose the Valiani Integra 200 cutting and milling system. In this interview (which we report in full) published by Italia Publishers, Daniele Fiorani, CEO of Print For Love, tells how the choice of Valiani Integra came about and how the machine, diversifying the processes with cutting and milling, is helping them to amplify business opportunities.

With the introduction of Integra 200, the Emilian printing center expands its finishing options on a thousand materials, and explores paper converting and new application fields.
Including the word «love» in one’s own company name is a daring undertaking, which lends itself to interpretation and exposes to possible disputes. However, the young history and spirit of Print For Love, an Emilian digital printing company founded in 2020, adhere well to its original name. The project’s sponsors are Daniele Fiorani, a ten-year commercial career in large format printing, Mauro Mazzocchi, Corrado Marchetti and Christian Borin, who have been active for some time in the field of promotional items and campaigns for large-scale distribution. Beyond previous experience in the sector, to unite the four partners is the firm’s will to build a common home, and expand the services offered to its customers.

Like many sign-makers, Print For Love initially focuses on small and medium format processes, mostly on flexible materials.
Using eco-solvent inkjet technology, a carving plotter and a few other tools, the printer creates stickers for vehicles and industrial machinery, adhesive graphics for points of sale, backlit bins, window stickers and signs.
Among the most used materials, carving adhesives, PET films and a wide range of PVC-free supports. «In addition to focusing on product quality and service accuracy, we want to make our offer more environmentally friendly,» Fiorani emphasizes. Among its customers, served directly or on behalf of third parties, Print For Love includes industrial groups, banks, retailers and supermarket chains throughout Northern and Central Italy.
The company offers graphics, printing and application services, employing both its own staff and a network of qualified freelancers.
A multi-material production
By laying the foundations of Print For Love, the owners are wondering which technologies to buy, which processes to outsource, and how to increase production capacity in a progressive and sustainable way.
Given the variety of possible processes and services, the options on the table are numerous, and include the purchase of a UV flatbed printer for rigid materials. An attractive option, which, however, is immediately discarded. «Without a doubt, flatbed printing is very flexible and transversal, but it implies significant purchase and management costs, requires significant space, and leads to competition in now impoverished segments, such as that of Forex panels», Fiorani argues. «Not being able to buy an industrial machine with great firepower, we would have found ourselves crushed by more equipped and fiercer competitors».

Print For Love makes most of its products with an Epson SureColor SC-S80600 10-color printer with GreenGuard Gold certified inks, a laminator and a Summa carving plotter.
Among the products with the highest margins there are customized wallpapers, displays and paper converting projects made of cardboard, or by combining different types of paper, plastic and metal materials. An increasingly challenging condition, which sometimes requires the use of external suppliers, and has encouraged the company to review its finishing processes.
In the autumn of 2021, the partners of Print For Love decided to equip themselves with a flat digital cutting system, as long as it is compatible with the small spaces of the laboratory, and with a limited budget. «We wanted a multifunctional system, which would allow us to perform any type of processing in an effective and repeatable way», Fiorani explains. «At the same time, we were looking for a qualitative and reliable machine, not too expensive, preferably of European construction».
After an in-depth analysis, and a series of demonstrations, the company comes across Integra 200, the new digital cutting and milling system launched a few weeks earlier by the Italian Valiani.
The 1,600×2,000 mm cutting table, the multi-tool head, the camera for detecting registration marks, the solidity of construction, precision and ease of use of the equipment convinced the printer during the demonstration phase.
The decision is made, and in January 2022 the machine goes into production at Print For Love.

Packaging and exhibitors:
a new development area
Among the most profitable and promising segments, Print For Love identifies that of packaging and paper processing, made possible by the precision of Integra 200 in cutting and creasing flat and corrugated cardboard.
Being able to die-cut offset machine sheets in sizes B2, B1 and 100×160, and corrugated sheets up to the maximum size of 160×200, the Piacenza-based company is able to produce cases, counter displays and fine boxes, and carry out prototypes and pre-series on behalf of paper converting companies and box factories in the area.
Among the enabling factors in this field are the applications of the Valiani V-Studio software suite, which includes tools for easily creating and editing die-cut paths, as well as a large library of pre-loaded models of boxes and displays.

Towards interior design and new (rich) technical and industrial applications
Faithful to its mission as an innovator and value generator, Print For Love has decided to use the new equipment to create original products with high added value.
To this end, the printer has started with Valiani, and with the suppliers of print media and special materials, a multidisciplinary research and development project, which has led it to test all kinds of materials, and to explore every possible niche within and off the graphic market.
Thanks to the equipment of the Integra 200 tools, and its 1 kW router, Print For Love can perform all kinds of cuts, half cuts, angled cuts, creasing and milling of the rigid materials most commonly used in digital printing, including methacrylate, Expanded PVC, aluminum and any type of acrylic sheet and coupled panel.
«Even without owning a flatbed printer, with Integra we can offer countless complex printed products, both single and multi-material,» explains Fiorani. «Creating standard products, and at the same time testing new materials, allows us to broaden the dialogue with our existing customers, and to approach new ones».
Among the most promising sectors, Print For Love has identified that of architecture and interior redevelopment and decoration. In this field, the company manufactures decorative panels and plaques, processes honeycomb materials in recycled plastic, wood cutter and high-density sound-absorbing materials.
